Anna Reid

Anna Reid is a British historian and journalist specializing in Russian and Ukrainian history and politics. She is best known for her books focusing on the Soviet Union and its legacy. Her work often explores the social and cultural impact of historical events on the lives of ordinary people. She has worked as a foreign correspondent for The Economist and The Daily Telegraph. Notable publications include Borderland: A Journey Through the History of Ukraine (1997), The Shivering Land: A Journey Through Siberia (2003), and Leningrad: The Epic Siege of World War II, 1941-1944 (2011), which won the PEN Hessell-Tiltman Prize.
