Andy Thorn (footballer)
Andy Thorn (born 12 November 1966) is a Welsh former professional footballer and manager.
Playing Career:
Thorn played primarily as a defender, although he was also capable of playing in midfield. His professional career spanned from 1988 to 2003. He began his career at Wrexham, where he progressed through the youth ranks before breaking into the first team. He then moved to Newcastle United.
He is perhaps best known for his time at Wimbledon, where he was a member of the "Crazy Gang." He played a significant role for the club during their time in the Premier League.
Following his spell at Wimbledon, Thorn played for Crystal Palace, Heart of Midlothian, and Tranmere Rovers.
Managerial Career:
After retiring as a player, Thorn transitioned into management. He served as manager of Coventry City from 2011 to 2012. His tenure at Coventry was challenging, coinciding with the club's financial difficulties and eventual administration. He was eventually dismissed from his role.
