Alpignano

Alpignano is a town and comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 15 kilometres (9 mi) west of Turin.

Alpignano is situated in the Po Valley, at the foot of the Cottian Alps. The town is crossed by the Dora Riparia river.

The economy of Alpignano is primarily based on industry and agriculture. The area produces wine, cereals, and fruit.

Historically, Alpignano was a rural village that grew significantly during the industrial expansion of Turin in the 20th century. The arrival of numerous factories and the subsequent construction of housing estates transformed the town.
