Alexander Grossmann (German scholar)

Alexander Grossmann (born January 23, 1949) is a German historian specializing in the history of gender, sexuality, and urban culture in modern Germany and Europe. He is a Professor of History at New York University, where he has taught since 1996.

Grossmann received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University. His work often examines the social and political contexts of sexuality and gender, particularly in the Weimar Republic and postwar Germany. He is known for his insightful analysis of the relationship between gender, modernity, and political upheaval.
