Alex Braz
Alex Braz is a British economist and former senior policymaker at the Bank of England. He served as the Executive Director for Financial Stability Strategy and Risk at the Bank, a role he held from 2018 to 2021. In this position, he was responsible for the Bank's work to identify, monitor, and mitigate risks to the UK financial system. He also sat on the Bank's Financial Policy Committee (FPC), which is responsible for macroprudential regulation in the UK.
Prior to this role, Braz held various positions at the Bank of England, including as a Director in the Financial Stability Directorate and as a senior economist focusing on financial market developments and systemic risk. He also worked on issues related to banking supervision and resolution.
Braz's work has focused on a range of topics related to financial stability, including macroprudential policy, financial regulation, and the assessment of systemic risk.
