Aleksey Medvedev (wrestler)
Aleksey Vladimirovich Medvedev (Russian: Алексей Владимирович Медведев; born October 16, 1977) is a Russian-Belarusian freestyle wrestler. He represented Russia early in his career, later switching allegiance to Belarus.
Medvedev competed in the men's 120 kg freestyle wrestling event at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, where he won a bronze medal. He also competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.
He has also achieved success at the World and European Wrestling Championships, winning medals in both competitions representing both Russia and Belarus. His career highlights include a World Championship gold medal (representing Russia) and multiple European Championship medals representing Belarus.
Medvedev's wrestling style is characterized by his strength and aggressive takedowns. He is considered one of the most successful heavyweight freestyle wrestlers of his era, known for his consistent performances at major international tournaments.
