Alan Hume
Alan Hume (16 October 1924 – 13 July 2010) was a British cinematographer with a career spanning over five decades. He is best known for his work on several James Bond films, including For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, and A View to a Kill. Hume's extensive filmography includes a diverse range of genres, from comedy to science fiction, and he collaborated with prominent directors such as Robert Zemeckis and Richard Donner. His contributions to cinematography earned him recognition within the industry.
Hume started his career in the camera department, working his way up to become a camera operator before transitioning to director of photography. His other notable credits include Lifeforce, Shirley Valentine, A Fish Called Wanda, and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (as second unit cinematographer). He was a member of the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC).
