A630 road
The A630 is a major road in England, primarily located in South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. It connects Sheffield city centre to junction 31 of the M1 motorway near Aston, Rotherham. The road then continues towards Rotherham town centre and onwards towards Doncaster.
The route serves as an important arterial road for commuter traffic and freight transport across the region. Key settlements served by the A630 include Sheffield, Catcliffe, Rotherham, and various villages in between.
Improvements to the A630 have been carried out over the years to alleviate congestion and improve safety. These improvements include dualling sections of the road and upgrading junctions. However, parts of the route remain prone to congestion, especially during peak hours.
The A630 is maintained by local authorities including Sheffield City Council, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, and Doncaster Council, with Highways England responsible for the section connecting to the M1 motorway.
