3rd Military Region (Vietnam People's Army)

The 3rd Military Region is one of the seven military regions of the Vietnam People's Army. It is responsible for the defense and security of the Red River Delta and surrounding provinces in northern Vietnam. Its headquarters are located in Bac Ninh province.

The region's primary mission is to organize, build, manage, and command the armed forces within its designated territory. This includes regular forces, local forces, and militia and self-defense forces. The 3rd Military Region is tasked with maintaining combat readiness, conducting training exercises, and participating in disaster relief efforts.

It also plays a significant role in socio-economic development within its area of responsibility, contributing to national construction and defense. The region works closely with local authorities and civilian organizations to ensure stability and security.

The 3rd Military Region is subordinate to the Ministry of National Defence and the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
