37th Division (Yugoslav Partisans)
The 37th Division was a military formation of the Yugoslav Partisans during World War II. It was formed on October 18, 1944, in the vicinity of Pirot. The initial composition of the division included the 7th Serbian Brigade, the 9th Serbian Brigade, and the 11th Serbian Brigade.
Throughout its existence, the 37th Division primarily operated in eastern Serbia, fighting against German forces, collaborationist units of the Serbian State Guard, and Chetnik forces. It participated in numerous battles and offensives aimed at liberating the region and disrupting enemy supply lines.
Following the liberation of Yugoslavia and the end of World War II, the 37th Division was demobilized. Veteran members were integrated into civilian life. Its contributions were recognized in the post-war period through decorations and commemorations.
