207th Division (1st Formation) (People's Republic of China)

The 207th Division (1st Formation) was a military unit of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of the People's Republic of China. It was formed in February 1949 under the organizational control of the North China Military Region. Its predecessor was the Independent 7th Brigade of Hebei Military Region.

Upon its formation, the division consisted of the 619th, 620th, and 621st Regiments. Li Guangzhong served as the division's first commander, and Pei Jingrong as its political commissar.

The 207th Division (1st Formation) participated in several campaigns during the late stages of the Chinese Civil War, including operations in the Hebei and Shanxi provinces.

In November 1950, the division was disbanded and its personnel were transferred to other units, primarily to supplement the manpower of artillery formations within the PLA. The disbandment concluded the division’s brief existence as an independent fighting formation.
