Veneza is the Portuguese name for Venice, a city in northeastern Italy. It is the capital of the Veneto region. Known globally as the "City of Water," "City of Masks," "City of Bridges," "The Floating City," and "Queen of the Adriatic," Venice is renowned for its unique urban layout, built upon a lagoon and featuring canals instead of roads.

History: Venice boasts a rich history as a major maritime power during the Middle Ages and Renaissance. It was an independent republic for over a millennium (from the late 7th century until 1797). Its strategic location made it a crucial trading hub between Europe and the East, leading to significant wealth and cultural influence.
