Settai (film)

Settai is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language black comedy film directed by R. Kannan. It is a remake of the 2011 Hindi film Delhi Belly. The film stars Arya, Hansika Motwani, Anjali, Premji Amaren, and Santhanam in the lead roles.

The plot revolves around three unwitting roommates – Cheenu (Arya), Baggy (Santhanam), and Natarajan (Premji Amaren) – who get caught up in a diamond smuggling operation. They inadvertently become the target of a ruthless gangster after mistakenly receiving a package intended for him. The film follows their chaotic attempts to escape the clutches of the gangster and his henchmen while trying to understand the bizarre circumstances they find themselves in.

Settai is known for its quirky humor, fast-paced storytelling, and comedic performances. While it aimed to capture the edgy and irreverent tone of its source material, Delhi Belly, it was generally considered a less successful adaptation, with critics noting differences in comedic timing and character development. The film's soundtrack was composed by S. Thaman.
