13th Rajputs (The Shekhawati Regiment)

The 13th Rajputs (The Shekhawati Regiment) was an infantry regiment of the British Indian Army. It was formed in 1922 as part of the post-World War I restructuring of the Indian Army, by the amalgamation of five separate Rajput regiments. These were: the 13th (The Shekhawati Regiment) Bengal Infantry, the 35th Sikh Pioneers, the 43rd Erinpura Regiment, the 122nd Rajputana Infantry, and the 125th Napier's Rifles.

The regiment perpetuated the traditions and battle honours of its antecedent units. The 13th Rajputs served in various locations within India and overseas during its existence. Notable campaigns include service in the North-West Frontier Province.

Following the independence of India in 1947, the 13th Rajputs was allocated to the Indian Army. In the subsequent reorganization of the Indian Army regiments, the battalions of the 13th Rajputs were merged with other Rajput regiments. The regiment ceased to exist as a distinct entity as part of this post-independence restructuring.
