Zręcin

Zręcin is a village located in southeastern Poland, within the Podkarpackie Voivodeship (province), in Krosno County, in the Gmina Chorkówka (commune). It lies approximately 6 kilometers (4 miles) south of Chorkówka, 10 kilometers (6 miles) southwest of Krosno, and 53 kilometers (33 miles) south of the regional capital Rzeszów.

Historically, Zręcin is significant for being the site of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of La Salette, a major Roman Catholic pilgrimage site. The sanctuary commemorates the apparition of the Virgin Mary to two children in La Salette-Fallavaux, France, in 1846. The La Salette Missionaries established a presence in Zręcin in the late 19th century, and the sanctuary has been a focal point of religious activity and devotion in the region ever since.

Zręcin's economy is primarily based on agriculture and services related to the pilgrimage traffic. The village also benefits from its proximity to Krosno, a regional center for industry and commerce.
