Zeugandra

Zeugandra is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Saxifragaceae. These perennial herbs are native to the Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia, including regions of China, India, and Nepal.

Zeugandra species are characterized by their rhizomatous growth habit and basal leaves. The leaves are typically heart-shaped or kidney-shaped and can be crenate or serrate. The flowering stems arise from the rhizome and bear cymes or panicles of small, white or pinkish flowers. Each flower typically has five petals and ten stamens.

The genus is relatively small, containing only a few recognized species. Some sources may also list different classifications or synonyms for certain species within Zeugandra.

Zeugandra species are often found in moist, shaded habitats such as forests and along streams. They are sometimes cultivated as ornamental plants in rock gardens or woodland gardens, prized for their delicate flowers and attractive foliage.
