Western Fleet (India)

The Western Fleet is one of the three operational fleets of the Indian Navy. Headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, it is responsible for naval operations in the Arabian Sea and parts of the Indian Ocean, including the country's western seaboard. The fleet's primary objective is to safeguard India's maritime interests, protect offshore assets, and ensure the security of sea lanes of communication.

The Western Fleet comprises a diverse array of warships, including aircraft carriers, destroyers, frigates, corvettes, submarines, and support vessels. It participates in regular exercises, both independently and jointly with other navies, to enhance operational readiness and interoperability. The Commander-in-Chief Western Naval Command (FOCINC-West) holds operational command of the Western Fleet.
