Weissfluh

Weissfluh is a mountain in the Alps, located in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland, near the town of Davos. It is part of the Parsenn ski area, a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts.

The Weissfluh features two distinct peaks: Weissfluhgipfel (2,844 m or 9,331 ft) and Weissfluhjoch (2,693 m or 8,835 ft). Weissfluhjoch is particularly notable as the location of a research institute for snow and avalanche research, known as the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF. This institute conducts important studies on snow properties, avalanche formation, and risk management related to avalanches in mountainous regions.

Access to the Weissfluh is typically gained via the Parsennbahn, a funicular railway from Davos Dorf, and a subsequent gondola or chairlift ascent. During the summer months, the area is popular for hiking and enjoying the alpine scenery.
