Uthlede
Uthlede is a village and a former municipality in the district of Cuxhaven, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Since 1 January 2014, it is part of the municipality Hagen im Bremischen.
Geography
Uthlede is located approximately 25 km northeast of Bremen. It lies within the Osterstade Geest region, a part of the Elbe-Weser Triangle.
History
Historically, Uthlede was part of the Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen. In 1648, the Prince-Archbishopric was transformed into the Duchy of Bremen, which was first ruled in personal union by the Swedish Crown and from 1715 on by the Hanoverian Crown. In 1823, the Duchy was abolished and its territory became part of the Stade Region.
Before its incorporation into Hagen im Bremischen in 2014, Uthlede was an independent municipality.
Economy
Agriculture has traditionally been a significant part of the local economy.
