Titus Naikuni

Titus Naikuni (1953 – 2019) was a Kenyan businessman and corporate executive. He is most widely recognized for his decade-long tenure as the Group Managing Director and CEO of Kenya Airways, a position he held from 2003 to 2014. During his leadership, Kenya Airways experienced significant growth and expansion, becoming one of the leading airlines in Africa.

Naikuni held a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi and also completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

Prior to joining Kenya Airways, Naikuni worked in various roles within the Kenyan government and private sector, including a long career at Bamburi Cement (LafargeHolcim). He served as a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Transport and Communications early in his career.

Beyond his role at Kenya Airways, Naikuni served on the boards of several prominent companies and organizations in Kenya, including the East African Portland Cement Company, CFC Bank, and the Maersk Group. He was known for his commitment to corporate governance and ethical leadership. He also served as a member of various governmental task forces and advisory panels focused on economic development and infrastructure.

Naikuni was awarded the Commander of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) by the Kenyan government in recognition of his contributions to the country's economy. He was respected for his business acumen, integrity, and dedication to public service.
