The Prison is a 2017 South Korean action crime film directed by Na Hyun and starring Han Suk-kyu and Kim Rae-won. The film portrays the story of a former police officer who intentionally enters prison to uncover the truth behind a series of unsolved crimes and the powerful inmate who controls the entire penal system.
Synopsis
Yu-gon, a former police officer known for his reckless methods, gets arrested and sent to prison. His purpose is to approach Ik-ho, a notorious prisoner who wields immense power and effectively runs the prison as his personal kingdom. Ik-ho uses the prisoners to commit perfect crimes on the outside, bribing guards and manipulating the system. Yu-gon quickly discovers the extent of Ik-ho's operations and becomes involved in his schemes, all while secretly planning to expose the corruption and bring Ik-ho down.
