The Glow (DMA's album)
The Glow is the third studio album by Australian indie rock band DMA's, released on 10 July 2020. It was released through I Oh You and BMG. The album marked a significant shift in DMA's sound, incorporating more electronic and dance influences while retaining their signature Britpop-inspired elements.
Preceded by singles "Silver," "Life Is a Game of Changing," "The Glow," "Round and Around," and "Criminals," The Glow received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its experimentation and broadened musical scope. It debuted at number 2 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart, becoming the band's highest-charting album to date. It also reached number 4 in the UK Albums Chart.
The album showcases a blend of anthemic stadium rock sensibilities with electronic textures and synthesized instrumentation. The lyrics explore themes of love, loss, change, and the search for meaning in modern life. Production was handled by Stuart Price (known for his work with artists like The Killers, Madonna, and New Order) alongside DMA's themselves.
