The Corporation (record production team)

The Corporation was a Motown songwriting and production team responsible for creating a string of hit records for The Jackson 5 in the late 1960s and early 1970s. While credited as a single entity, "The Corporation" was actually a collective of several individuals within Motown Records, including Berry Gordy, Freddie Perren, Alphonzo Mizell, and Deke Richards.

The team was formed with the specific goal of crafting a new sound for The Jackson 5, a group of young brothers who had just been signed to Motown. Their strategy involved blending bubblegum pop melodies with funk-influenced rhythms and a strong emphasis on catchy hooks, all tailored to the youthful energy and vocal talents of Michael Jackson.
