The Bad Batch (film)
The Bad Batch is a 2016 dystopian thriller film directed by Ana Lily Amirpour. It stars Suki Waterhouse, Jason Momoa, Keanu Reeves, and Jim Carrey. The film follows Arlen (Waterhouse), a young woman exiled to a desolate wasteland in Texas designated for societal rejects known as "the bad batch." In this harsh environment, she is forced to navigate a brutal and lawless society, encountering cannibalistic communities and other dangers as she struggles to survive and find her place. The film explores themes of societal outcasts, survival, and the search for human connection in extreme circumstances. It premiered at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival, where it won the Special Jury Prize.
