Tarbikha
Tarbikha was a Palestinian Arab village located 29 kilometers northeast of Acre, near the Lebanese border. It was situated on a hilltop overlooking the Hula Plain. Historically, the village was known for its strategic location and agricultural land.
The village was depopulated during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, specifically during Operation Hiram in late October 1948. Following its capture, the village's inhabitants were displaced, becoming refugees.
Today, the area where Tarbikha once stood is part of Israel. The moshav of Shomera was established on the village's land in 1949. The ruins of Tarbikha are scattered, with some original buildings and structures still visible, although largely abandoned and overgrown. The location remains of historical significance, reflecting the displacement of the Palestinian population during the 1948 war.
