Tanger (river)
The Tanger is a small river located in northern Morocco. It flows generally northeastward, passing through the city of Tangier (from which it derives its name) before emptying into the Strait of Gibraltar, part of the Mediterranean Sea. Historically, the river played a role in supplying water to Tangier and supporting local agriculture. While it is not a major river in terms of size or length, the Tanger's proximity to a major urban center and its location on the Strait of Gibraltar give it some geographical significance. Its water quality has been subject to environmental concerns in recent decades due to urban development and pollution. Efforts to manage and improve the Tanger's water resources are ongoing.
