Stephen O'Donnell (Irish footballer)
Stephen O'Donnell (born 11 May 1986) is an Irish professional football manager and former player who most recently managed Dundalk. During his playing career, O'Donnell primarily played as a defensive midfielder.
Playing Career:
O'Donnell began his senior playing career with Bohemians in the League of Ireland Premier Division. He later moved to Scottish Premier League side Falkirk in 2007. After a spell there, he returned to Ireland and played for Galway United. A subsequent move to Shelbourne followed. He then rejoined Dundalk, where he had a successful period, winning multiple League of Ireland titles and FAI Cups.
Managerial Career:
After retiring from playing, O'Donnell moved into coaching and management. He took on the role of manager at St Patrick's Athletic, leading them to FAI Cup success in 2021. In December 2021, he was appointed manager of Dundalk, a club where he had previously enjoyed considerable success as a player. He left Dundalk in November 2023.
