Stefan Mitrović (footballer, born 1990)

Stefan Mitrović (born 29 March 1990) is a Serbian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Red Star Belgrade.

Career

Mitrović began his career playing for Teleoptik, a feeder club of Partizan Belgrade. He then moved to Zbrojovka Brno in the Czech Republic, before transferring to Metalurh Donetsk in Ukraine. Subsequent moves took him to Benfica in Portugal, Real Valladolid in Spain, SC Freiburg in Germany, and Gent in Belgium.

In 2016, he joined Saint-Étienne in France, where he became a regular in the first team. He later moved to Strasbourg, also in France, before returning to Serbia to play for Red Star Belgrade.

International Career

Mitrović has represented Serbia at the international level. He made his debut for the Serbian national team in 2014 and has since accumulated a number of caps. He has participated in various international competitions and qualifiers for Serbia.

Playing Style

Mitrović is known for his strong physical presence, aerial ability, and tackling skills. He is a reliable defender capable of organizing the backline and making crucial interceptions. He is also comfortable playing the ball out from the back.
