Sedilo

Sedilo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Oristano in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 100 kilometers north of Cagliari and about 35 kilometers northeast of Oristano.

Sedilo is primarily known for the Ardia di San Costantino, a horse race held every year on July 6th and 7th in honor of Saint Constantine. The race involves a large number of riders who race down a dangerous, uncontrolled course leading to the sanctuary of San Costantino. This event is a major cultural and religious celebration in Sardinia, attracting thousands of spectators.

The economy of Sedilo is based mainly on agriculture and animal husbandry. Tourism related to the Ardia also contributes to the local economy.

The area around Sedilo is characterized by a rugged landscape and contains archaeological sites indicating human presence since the Nuragic period.
