Scott McKay (actor)

Scott McKay (May 28, 1915 – April 17, 1987) was an American actor best known for his roles in theater, film, and television.

McKay was born in Pleasantville, Iowa. He began his acting career on stage, appearing in numerous Broadway productions. His notable stage credits include "The Philadelphia Story," "All My Sons," and "Write Me a Murder." He was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play in 1964 for his performance in "Never Too Late."

McKay transitioned to film and television in the 1950s. His film appearances include roles in "3:10 to Yuma" (1957), "From the Terrace" (1960), "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" (1962), "Advise & Consent" (1962), "The Singing Nun" (1966), and "Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here" (1969).

On television, McKay made guest appearances on numerous shows, including "Perry Mason," "The Twilight Zone," "Gunsmoke," "Bonanza," "The Fugitive," "The Invaders," "The F.B.I.," "Mannix," "Hawaii Five-O," "The Streets of San Francisco," and "Barnaby Jones." He also had recurring roles on series such as "Dark Shadows" and "Dallas."

McKay died of lung cancer in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 71.
