Sam Huff (baseball)

Samuel Earl Huff (born January 16, 1998) is an American professional baseball catcher and first baseman in the Texas Rangers organization.

Career

Huff attended Hamilton High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the seventh round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. He began his professional career with the Arizona League Rangers in 2016, and also played for the Spokane Indians. In 2017, he played for the Hickory Crawdads. In 2018, he played for the Down East Wood Ducks. He was named to the Carolina League All-Star team. In 2019, he played for the Frisco RoughRiders.

Huff made his Major League debut for the Texas Rangers on September 12, 2020. He hit his first major league home run on September 14, 2020, against the Oakland Athletics.

Playing Style

Huff is known for his power hitting ability. He possesses a strong arm and is considered a capable defensive catcher.
