Salvador (2006 film)

Salvador (Puig Antich) is a 2006 Spanish biographical drama film directed by Manuel Huerga. The film tells the story of Salvador Puig Antich, a young Catalan anarchist and convicted murderer. It focuses on the events leading up to his execution by garrote in 1974, during the final years of Francisco Franco's dictatorship in Spain. The film explores the political climate of the time, the trial and legal proceedings, and the attempts to secure a pardon for Puig Antich. It stars Daniel Brühl as Salvador Puig Antich, and features a supporting cast including Tristán Ulloa and Leonardo Sbaraglia. Salvador was nominated for eight Goya Awards, including Best Film.
