STS-130

STS-130 was a NASA Space Shuttle mission flown by Space Shuttle Endeavour. Launched on February 8, 2010, and landing on February 21, 2010, the primary objective of the mission was to deliver and install the Tranquility module (Node 3) and the Cupola observational module to the International Space Station (ISS).

Tranquility, built by the European Space Agency (ESA), provides life support systems and additional internal volume for the ISS. It houses equipment for air revitalization, water recycling, waste management, and a treadmill (COLBERT) for astronaut exercise.

The Cupola is a robotic control station with six windows around the sides and another in the center, providing a 360-degree view of the Earth and the ISS. It is used to support robotics operations and gives crew members a view of the outside world for observing and photographing the Earth and space.

The crew of STS-130 consisted of six astronauts: Commander George Zamka, Pilot Terry Virts, and Mission Specialists Robert Behnken, Nicholas Patrick, Kay Hire, and Stephen Robinson. The mission involved three spacewalks, all performed by Behnken and Patrick, to connect power, data, and cooling lines to Tranquility and the Cupola. The mission also delivered supplies and equipment to the ISS.
