Roy Paci
Roy Paci (born Roy Pace, September 16, 1969) is an Italian trumpeter, singer, composer, and arranger. He is known for his eclectic musical style, which blends ska, jazz, funk, rocksteady, and traditional Sicilian music.
Paci began his musical career playing in local bands in Sicily. He later moved to Bologna, where he formed the band Persiana Jones. He subsequently formed the band Aretuska, known for its energetic live performances and blend of musical styles.
Throughout his career, Paci has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Manu Chao, Vinicio Capossela, and Gogol Bordello. He has also released several solo albums, including "Baciamo le mani" (2001), "Parola d'onore" (2003), "Suonoglobal" (2007), and "Valelapena" (2015).
Paci's music often incorporates socially conscious themes and reflects his Sicilian roots. He has toured extensively both in Italy and internationally, gaining a reputation as a dynamic and engaging performer. He is considered a significant figure in the Italian alternative music scene.
