Roy Kwong
Roy Kwong (born May 25, 1983) is a Hong Kong politician and social worker. He is known for his advocacy for animal rights, social justice, and democratic reform in Hong Kong.
Kwong served as a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, representing the District Council (Second) functional constituency, from 2016 to 2020. He was disqualified from the Legislative Council in November 2020, along with several other pro-democracy legislators, after the National People's Congress Standing Committee passed a resolution on the qualifications of Legislative Council members.
Prior to entering the Legislative Council, Kwong worked as a social worker and was actively involved in grassroots community work. He has been a vocal critic of the Hong Kong government and the Chinese Communist Party's influence over the city. He is associated with the Democratic Party, a pro-democracy political party in Hong Kong. Kwong has faced multiple arrests and charges related to his political activities and activism.
