Robert J. Egan (Illinois politician)
Robert J. Egan (born July 28, 1930, died January 9, 2003) was an American politician who served as a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives.
Egan was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended DePaul University and Loyola University Chicago School of Law, earning a law degree. He practiced law in Chicago.
Egan served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1969 to 1983, representing the 14th district. During his time in the legislature, he was known for his work on legislation related to consumer protection and criminal justice. He served as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
After leaving the legislature, Egan continued to practice law. He died in Chicago at the age of 72.
