River Eea

The River Eea is a small river in Lancashire, England. It rises near Abbeystead in the Forest of Bowland and flows generally southwest, joining the River Brock near Catterall. Its length is approximately 9 miles (14.5 kilometers).

The name "Eea" is thought to be derived from a Celtic or Old English word for "water" or "river." The river is known for its relatively clean water and diverse wildlife. It is a popular spot for anglers, although access may be restricted.

The river valley is largely agricultural, with pasture and arable land dominating the landscape. The surrounding area is sparsely populated. The River Eea contributes to the River Brock's drainage basin, eventually flowing into the River Wyre and then into the Irish Sea.
