Reeker

A Reeker is a fictional creature appearing in the 2005 horror film Reeker and its sequels No Man's Land: The Rise of Reeker and Reeker: Unrated. The Reeker is a grotesque, supernatural being that appears as a physically decaying human figure emitting a foul, nauseating odor – the "reek" which gives the creature its name.

The Reeker preys on individuals who are about to die, are experiencing severe suffering, or have committed terrible acts. Its presence often signals impending doom, and those exposed to its odor are often driven to madness or violent acts. The creature seemingly exists between dimensions, appearing and disappearing seemingly at will, often using the element of surprise to attack its victims.

While the exact origins of the Reeker are never fully explained, it is implied to be some form of supernatural manifestation or possibly a personification of death and suffering. The strength of the Reeker appears to correlate with the negative emotional energy present in its surroundings. The more pain, fear, and despair present, the more powerful and aggressive the Reeker becomes.

The Reeker is typically vulnerable only when in its corporeal form. Tactics used to defeat it often involve exploiting its connection to negative emotions or finding ways to disrupt the dimensional link allowing it to manifest in the physical world.
