Radish (band)

Radish was an American rock band formed in the early 1990s in Baltimore, Maryland. The band's core members were Ben Lee Gaither (vocals/guitar), Ryan Lake (guitar), Christian Sturgis (bass), and John Gwynn (drums).

Radish gained prominence in the mid-1990s, known for their energetic live performances and catchy, guitar-driven alternative rock sound. They released their debut album, Restraining Bolt, in 1994 on the independent label, Mercury Records. The album showcased their youthful exuberance and songwriting potential.

In 1997, Radish signed with a major label, Mercury Records (a different entity than the first). They released their second and more commercially successful album, Dizzy, later that year. Dizzy featured a more polished sound and several songs that gained significant airplay on alternative rock radio stations. The band toured extensively in support of Dizzy, opening for acts such as Foo Fighters and The Lemonheads.

Despite the success of Dizzy, Radish disbanded in 1999. Ben Lee Gaither pursued a solo career under the name Ben Lee. The other band members explored different musical projects.

Although Radish's active period was relatively short, their music continues to be appreciated by fans of 1990s alternative rock, and Dizzy is often remembered as a notable album of the era.
