Rachiș
Rachiș is a Romanian term, primarily used in rural areas, referring to the residual pulp, skins, and seeds of grapes after they have been pressed for juice or wine making. It is essentially the grape pomace. Rachiș is commonly used as animal feed, particularly for livestock like pigs and cattle. In some regions, it may also be distilled to create a low-quality spirit, although this practice is less common and often unregulated. The precise composition and quality of rachiș vary depending on the type of grapes used and the efficiency of the pressing process.
