Puchong

Puchong is a major town and parliamentary constituency located in the Petaling District, Selangor, Malaysia. It lies within the Klang Valley conurbation. Once primarily a rubber estate and tin mining area, Puchong has undergone significant development since the late 1990s, transforming into a densely populated residential and commercial hub.

The area is characterized by a mix of residential properties, including landed houses, high-rise condominiums, and apartments. Commercial activity is concentrated in several key areas, such as Bandar Puteri Puchong, Pusat Bandar Puchong, and IOI Boulevard. These areas are home to a wide variety of businesses, ranging from local shops and restaurants to multinational corporations.

Puchong is well-connected to other parts of the Klang Valley via a network of highways, including the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), and the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE). The Ampang Line and Sri Petaling Line extensions of the Klang Valley Integrated Transit System serve Puchong, providing access to the city center of Kuala Lumpur and other surrounding areas.

Culturally, Puchong is diverse, reflecting Malaysia's multicultural society. It houses various places of worship, including mosques, temples, and churches, catering to the different religious communities residing in the area.

The rapid development of Puchong has brought both benefits and challenges. Increased accessibility and economic opportunities have attracted many residents and businesses. However, it has also led to increased traffic congestion and strain on existing infrastructure. Local authorities are continuously working to address these challenges and improve the quality of life for residents.
