Propaganda (Russian band)

Propaganda (Russian: Пропаганда) is a Russian pop music group, initially formed in Moscow in 2001. The group’s early lineup consisted of Viktoriya Voronina, Yulia Garanina, and Olga Moreva. Propaganda gained initial popularity with songs characterized by teenage themes and a catchy, straightforward pop sound.

Over the years, the group's lineup has undergone significant changes, with Viktoriya Voronina being the only consistent member until her departure in 2010. After Voronina’s departure, the group continued with new members under the "Propaganda" name, managed by Sergey Izotov.

The band achieved success in Russia with songs like "Melom" (Мелом, "With Chalk"), "Kto?" (Кто?, "Who?"), and "Super Detka" (Супер Детка, "Super Girl"). Their music often topped Russian charts and received radio airplay. While their initial image was focused on a younger audience, they later attempted to broaden their appeal with more mature themes.

The current status and continued activities of the band under the "Propaganda" name are subject to change, but the name remains associated with the early 2000s Russian pop music scene. The ever-changing lineup has led to some debate regarding the authenticity and continuity of the "Propaganda" project following the departure of its original members.
