Portslade
Portslade is a coastal area and suburb of the city of Brighton and Hove, in East Sussex, England. It is located to the west of Brighton, bordering Hove.
History: Portslade has a history dating back to Roman times, with evidence of Roman settlements and activity in the area. It is mentioned in the Domesday Book as "Porteslage". Throughout much of its history, Portslade was a small village and agricultural community. The development of the railway in the 19th century brought significant changes, leading to increased residential and industrial growth. Portslade-by-Sea developed as a port and industrial area distinct from the older village.
Geography: Portslade's geography is varied, encompassing coastal areas, residential districts, and industrial zones. It slopes upwards from the coast towards the South Downs National Park to the north. The area includes the Portslade Aldridge Community Academy playing fields.
