Phaq'u Q'awa (Sajama)

Phaq'u Q'awa (Sajama), often shortened to Sajama, is a stratovolcano located in the Sajama National Park in Bolivia. It is the highest peak in Bolivia, reaching an elevation of 6,542 meters (21,463 feet) above sea level.

Geography and Geology:

Sajama is situated in the western Cordillera of the Andes, near the Chilean border. The volcano is composed primarily of lava flows and pyroclastic materials. It is believed to be a dormant volcano, although fumarolic activity has been observed near the summit. The surrounding landscape is characterized by high-altitude puna grasslands, arid conditions, and other volcanic features.

Historical Significance and Culture:
