Pat Goss
Pat Goss (1941 – March 19, 2024) was an American mechanic, automotive expert, and television personality best known for co-hosting the PBS television show MotorWeek.
Goss was the resident mechanic on MotorWeek for over four decades, providing practical advice and demonstrations on car maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting. His segment, "Goss' Garage," was a popular feature of the program. He was known for his straightforward, no-nonsense approach and his ability to explain complex automotive concepts in a clear and understandable manner for the average car owner.
Prior to his television career, Goss owned and operated Goss' Garage, a successful auto repair shop in Lanham, Maryland. This real-world experience lent credibility to his on-screen advice. He was also a frequent contributor to automotive publications and a respected voice within the automotive industry.
Goss was recognized for his contributions to automotive education and consumer advocacy. He was inducted into the Washington Area New Auto Dealers Association (WANADA) Hall of Fame in 2014. His legacy continues through the MotorWeek archives and the many car owners he empowered to better understand and maintain their vehicles.
