Painted Desert (South Australia)

The Painted Desert is an arid landscape located in the Arckaringa Hills of northern South Australia, approximately 120 kilometers northwest of the opal mining town of Coober Pedy. It is characterized by its vividly coloured, eroded sandstone formations, particularly its mesas, hills, and gibber plains.
