Old Lake County Courthouse (Florida)

The Old Lake County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located in Tavares, Florida. Built in 1930, it served as the main courthouse for Lake County until the construction of a new judicial complex in the late 2000s.

The courthouse is an example of Beaux-Arts architecture, characterized by its symmetrical facade, classical detailing, and prominent dome. It features a rusticated first story, smooth limestone upper stories, and decorative terra cotta elements.

The building housed various county government offices in addition to the courtrooms. Over the years, it played a significant role in the judicial and administrative operations of Lake County.

Following the opening of the new courthouse, the Old Lake County Courthouse underwent renovations and now serves as a museum and event space.
