Ocean Cay
Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve is a private island in the Bahamas owned and operated by MSC Cruises. Located approximately 65 miles (105 km) east of Miami, Florida and 20 miles (32 km) south of Bimini, it serves as an exclusive destination for MSC Cruises passengers.
Originally an industrial sand extraction site, MSC Cruises undertook a significant redevelopment project, transforming the island into a marine reserve and tourist destination focused on sustainable tourism and environmental conservation. The island reopened in December 2019.
Ocean Cay offers a variety of amenities and activities for cruise passengers, including beaches, water sports, dining venues, bars, and a lighthouse. The island is designed to provide a relaxed and natural environment, with emphasis on preserving the surrounding marine ecosystem. Conservation efforts include coral restoration programs and measures to minimize environmental impact. The island remains closed to the general public, accessible only to MSC Cruises guests.
