Nevesinje
Nevesinje is a town and municipality located in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in the eastern part of Herzegovina, in a plateau region at the foot of Mount Velež.

History:
The area around Nevesinje has been inhabited since ancient times. During the medieval period, it was part of various Bosnian and Serbian states. Under Ottoman rule, Nevesinje became a significant center for resistance against Ottoman authority. The Nevesinje Uprising (Nevesinjska puška) in 1875 is considered a pivotal event leading to the Great Eastern Crisis and the subsequent Austro-Hungarian occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the Bosnian War (1992-1995), Nevesinje remained under the control of the Army of Republika Srpska.
