Mink (band)

Mink was a short-lived American rock band formed in New York City in the early 1970s. The group was notable for featuring both Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham prior to their joining Fleetwood Mac.

Very little information about Mink exists, and their history is primarily documented through anecdotes related to Nicks and Buckingham's early careers. They reportedly played a limited number of live performances in the New York area. Before becoming Mink, Nicks and Buckingham were part of another band named Fritz, which had some regional success in the San Francisco Bay Area. After the breakup of Fritz, Nicks and Buckingham moved to Los Angeles and formed a duo, which then became Mink after relocating to New York.

The band’s lack of commercial success and the subsequent return of Nicks and Buckingham to California led to its disbandment and ultimately paved the way for their invitation to join Fleetwood Mac in 1974. There are no known recordings of Mink publicly available.
